Namibia Highlights Fly-In Safari

Early morning scenic charter flight over the Namib Desert, watching the landscape shift from scrub to dune sea as you approach Sossusvlei. Afternoon at leisure to explore your camp and watch the dunes change colour at sunset. The Namib is the world's oldest desert -- up to 80 million years old.

Pre-dawn start to enter Sossusvlei through the Sesriem gate before public access. Climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy for a panoramic view at first light. Descend to Deadvlei: a white clay pan surrounded by 900-year-old dead camelthorn trees, one of Africa's most photographed natural scenes.

Scenic flight north to Damaraland, a remote landscape of ancient volcanic rock and dry river valleys. Afternoon desert-elephant tracking excursion and a visit to Twyfelfontein, one of Africa's richest collections of San rock art with over 2,500 engravings.

Full day tracking desert-adapted wildlife in the Palmwag Concession. At Desert Rhino Camp, expert trackers from Save the Rhino Trust search for black rhino on foot. Elephant tracking by vehicle and on foot across this vast ancient landscape.

Fly north along the Namibian coastline, spotting shipwrecks and Cape fur seal colonies from the air before landing deep inside the Skeleton Coast, where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean in a shroud of sea fog.

A full day exploring the Skeleton Coast's fog-desert ecology: oryx and springbok adapted to the coastal dunes, brown hyena foraging on shipwreck beaches, and at Hoanib, the extraordinary opportunity to track desert-adapted lion.

Fly southeast to Etosha National Park, Namibia's premier wildlife reserve, for an afternoon game drive at one of the park's famous floodlit waterholes.
