Arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Windhoek. Our driver meets you on arrival and transfers you to your city hotel. Depart early and drive south-west through the central highlands of Namibia, the landscape gradually opening into the wide gravel plains of the Namib-Naukluft. Stop at the dramatic Spreetshoogte Pass for views across the escarpment. Arrive at the Sesriem gate and check in to your desert lodge. Late afternoon walk to Sesriem Canyon, carved by the Tsauchab River through 30-metre-deep red sandstone.

Pre-dawn departure through the park gate (exclusive 4×4 access before public opening) to reach the dune field as the first light touches the crests. Climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy for a panoramic view across one of the world's great natural spectacles. Descend to Deadvlei, a white claypan surrounded by 900-year-old dead camel thorn trees and framed by rust-red dunes: one of Africa's most photographed scenes. Return to lodge by mid-morning before the heat rises. Afternoon at leisure: guided nature walk or 4×4 exploration of the pan.

Drive north from the Namib-Naukluft through Namibia's vast interior. The landscape transitions from dune sea to gravel plains, then to the volcanic rock and ancient riverbeds of Damaraland. Arrive at your Damaraland lodge for lunch. Afternoon guided walk in the surrounding desert terrain with a local Damara guide: tracking desert-adapted plants and scanning the rocky slopes for klipspringer and mountain zebra.

Namibia is home to the world's largest population of free-roaming black rhino: not fenced, not in reserves, but wild in the desert, tracked across rocky terrain by specialist Save the Rhino Trust trackers. This morning, join the trackers on foot across the Palmwag Concession's volcanic landscape, following the spoor of rhino across ancient riverbeds. A successful rhino encounter on foot in this landscape is one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife experiences.

Morning tracking of Damaraland's desert-adapted elephant: a distinct population whose longer legs and flatter feet have evolved for navigating the rocky desert terrain. These elephants roam enormous home ranges and their tracks are found in riverbeds far from any permanent water. Afternoon visit to Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring the largest concentration of ancient rock engravings in Africa: Bushman petroglyphs dating back 6,000 years.

Morning at leisure, then drive east to Etosha National Park: Namibia's premier game reserve, built around a vast salt pan visible from space. Check in at Anderson Gate and begin an immediate afternoon game drive. Etosha's permanent waterholes draw an extraordinary concentration of wildlife during the dry season, including lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe, oryx, and both black and white rhino.

A full day of game drives around Etosha's famous waterholes. In the dry season (May–October), the waterholes become the most reliable wildlife theatre in Africa: the Okaukuejo waterhole, equipped with floodlights, allows overnight watching of black rhino, lion and elephant coming to drink in the darkness. Your guide knows which waterholes are most productive at which times of day. Evening: sit at the Ongava private waterhole as the wildlife arrives at dusk.

Explore the eastern sector of Etosha, less visited than the west and offering a subtly different ecosystem: more woodland and lower visibility, but outstanding leopard, wild dog and cheetah habitat. The Halali camp area waterhole is renowned for its nocturnal black rhino visits. Afternoon drive through the open pans of the central Etosha for the park's most dramatic big-sky game viewing.

Final morning game drive before the drive south to Windhoek (approx. 4 hrs). Depending on your flight time, a final lunch in the capital and transfer to Hosea Kutako International Airport. End of Saringi Tours services.
