Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Nairobi – Amboseli (approx. 4 hrs)
Our driver meets you at JKIA or your Nairobi hotel. Drive south past the Athi Plains, crossing through Maasai pastoralist land. As you approach Amboseli, the white dome of Kilimanjaro: Africa's highest peak: comes into view. Arrive with a short game drive en route to the lodge. Check in, lunch and rest. Afternoon game drive.
Day 2Amboseli – Full Day
Full day in Amboseli with picnic lunches. Explore the park's open plains, seasonal swamps and acacia woodlands. The park is home to one of Africa's largest concentrations of elephants; bulls with enormous tusks are frequently spotted. Climb the Observation Hill for sweeping views across the park and, on clear mornings, a perfect frame of Kilimanjaro.
Day 3Amboseli – Lake Naivasha (approx. 6 hrs)
After an early breakfast, depart Amboseli and drive north through the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in at a lakeshore lodge. In the afternoon, take a boat ride across the lake to Crescent Island: a private walking sanctuary with no predators: for a guided nature walk among giraffe, zebra, waterbuck and hundreds of species of water birds.
Day 4Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara (approx. 5 hrs)
After breakfast, depart Naivasha and drive west, descending into the Rift Valley and across the Mara plains. Arrive at the Maasai Mara in time for lunch. After a rest, enjoy an afternoon game drive from 3 to 6 p.m. The evening light on the savannah is spectacular.
Day 5Maasai Mara – Full Day
A complete day of game drives in the Maasai Mara Reserve. Spend the morning tracking big cats before a picnic lunch by the Mara River. In season (July–October), witness wildebeest gathering for their famous river crossings. The afternoon drive often brings surprise predator encounters at dusk.
Day 6Maasai Mara – Full Day
A final full day in the Mara. Optional: visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience or take a guided bush walk with Maasai rangers. Spend the afternoon on a final sweep of the reserve before a farewell sundowner on the open plains.
Day 7Maasai Mara – Nairobi (approx. 5 hrs)
Early morning game drive then return to camp for a full breakfast. Check out and drive back to Nairobi, arriving mid-afternoon in time for onward international or domestic connections.
