Overview
The Gorilla Habituation Experience Safari is a 6-day safari through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest & Queen Elizabeth National Park, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. This route takes in Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, with each day sequenced to put you in the right place at the right time for wildlife.
Gorilla trekking in this part of East Africa requires specialist knowledge, advance permits, and a reliable local network. Saringi handles all of it: permits, guide allocations, and lodge bookings are managed on your behalf. The itinerary is private and fully flexible. Dates, pace, and accommodation can be adjusted at any point, and Kenya or Tanzania wildlife days can be added if you want to extend the journey.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Fly or drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving in the afternoon. Lodge briefing and an introductory walk along the forest edge to begin acclimatising to the altitude. Early night ahead of the habituation experience.
Day 2Rest & Acclimatise
A free day to settle into the rhythm of the forest. Optional activities: a guided community walk through surrounding villages, a visit to the Batwa pygmy cultural experience, or a forest walk with a naturalist guide.
Day 3Gorilla Habituation Experience, Rushaga Sector
An early start for the habituation experience: a full-day trek into Rushaga sector with researchers to spend up to four hours with a gorilla family in the early stages of habituation. Unlike standard trekking, there is no one-hour time limit. You observe natural gorilla behaviour at close range alongside the science team.
Day 4Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha
Drive north from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the remote Ishasha sector (approx. 2-3 hrs), renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions that lounge in the branches of large fig trees. En route game drive in Ishasha, then continue to Mweya or Kyambura for the night.
Day 5Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Morning game drive across the open savannah, then an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel -- one of Africa's most productive stretches of water for hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, and birdlife, with over 600 species recorded in the park.
Day 6Queen Elizabeth -- Drive to Entebbe -- Departure
Drive or fly back to Entebbe International Airport for onward or international connections. End of Saringi Tours services.
