Murchison Falls Wildlife & Chimpanzee Safari

Depart Kampala or Entebbe early, driving north through the fertile Ugandan interior to Murchison Falls National Park (approx. 5 hrs by road). En route, cross the equator and pass through Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you can optionally walk with Uganda's only wild white rhinos. Arrive by afternoon for your first game drive or boat cruise briefing.

Morning launch cruise upstream along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where the entire Nile squeezes through a 7-metre gorge with extraordinary force. Hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and hundreds of bird species including the rare shoebill stork line the riverbanks. Afternoon hike to the top of the falls for a panoramic view across the Nile.

Full morning game drive across the park's northern bank, Murchison's most productive game-viewing terrain. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, Uganda kob, oribi, and lion are regularly encountered on the open savannah. This is one of the best game drives in Uganda for sheer numbers and variety.

Depart Murchison Falls after breakfast and drive south through the Ugandan countryside to Kibale Forest National Park (approx. 5 hrs). Kibale holds the highest concentration of primates in Africa, with 13 species including nearly 1,500 chimpanzees. Arrive for lunch and a forest orientation walk at your lodge.

Early morning briefing at the park gate, then enter the forest in search of Kibale's habituated chimpanzee community. Your ranger guides you through the rainforest, tracking the chimps by sound and sign. Spend up to an hour with them in their natural habitat. Afternoon optional: Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary bird walk.

Final morning at leisure before the drive to Entebbe International Airport (approx. 4 hrs) for onward or international connections. End of Saringi Tours services.
