The 8 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Kenya Safari is a 8-day safari through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest & Maasai Mara, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. This route takes in Maasai Mara, Bwindi, with each day sequenced to put you in the right place at the right time for wildlife.
Gorilla trekking in this part of East Africa requires specialist knowledge, advance permits, and a reliable local network. Saringi handles all of it: permits, guide allocations, and lodge bookings are managed on your behalf. The itinerary is private and fully flexible. Dates, pace, and accommodation can be adjusted at any point, and Kenya or Tanzania wildlife days can be added if you want to extend the journey.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Entebbe – Transfer to Kampala
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Our driver meets you at arrivals and transfers you to your Kampala hotel (approximately 45 minutes). Welcome dinner in Uganda's vibrant capital.
Day 2Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (approx. 8 hrs or charter flight ~1 hr)
Depart early for the long but scenic drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park: through tea estates, rolling hills and the Kigezi highlands. Alternatively, take a 50-minute charter flight from Entebbe or Kampala to Kihihi airstrip. Arrive at your forest lodge and attend your gorilla trek orientation briefing.
Day 3Gorilla Trekking: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Early breakfast before setting off with your ranger and tracker team. Treks range from 2–8 hours depending on gorilla family location. Once found, you spend one magical hour with a habituated family of mountain gorillas: watching them feed, play, groom and interact just metres away. One of Africa's truly transformative wildlife experiences. Return to the lodge for a celebratory lunch and afternoon at leisure.
Day 4Bwindi – Fly to Nairobi – Transfer to Mara
Morning at leisure in Bwindi: optional nature walk to spot forest birds, colobus monkeys or golden monkeys. Charter flight from Kihihi to Entebbe/Kampala, then a scheduled or charter connection to Nairobi Wilson Airport. Drive or fly to the Maasai Mara and check in for a sundowner.
Day 5Maasai Mara – Full Day
Full day on the Maasai Mara. Dawn game drive at first light: lion prides are most active at dawn. Breakfast in the field then a long mid-morning drive tracking cheetah and leopard. Afternoon crossing of the Mara Triangle, known for exceptional predator density and (July–October) the Mara River wildebeest crossings.
Day 6Maasai Mara – Full Day
Another full day on the Mara. Explore different areas with your guide: the Musiara Marsh for hippo and bird life, open plains for cheetah, and riverine forest for leopard. Optional Maasai village visit in the late afternoon, or hot air balloon safari at dawn (payable locally).
Day 7Maasai Mara – Nairobi (approx. 5 hrs)
Final morning game drive before departing the Mara. Drive north through the Rift Valley to Nairobi. Afternoon at leisure: visit the Giraffe Centre or Karen Blixen Museum. Farewell dinner in Nairobi.
Day 8Nairobi – Departure
Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight home. End of Saringi services: we hope this journey combining the forests of Uganda and the plains of Kenya will stay with you forever.
