Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arusha – Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hrs)
Our driver meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport or your Arusha hotel. Drive southwest along the tarmac to Tarangire. Enter the park with an introductory afternoon game drive: Tarangire is famed for its enormous elephant herds and striking baobab landscape. Check in to the lodge for dinner.
Day 2Tarangire – Lake Manyara (approx. 1.5 hrs)
Full morning game drive in Tarangire following the Tarangire River: a dry-season magnet for zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, elephant and predators. After lunch, drive north to Lake Manyara National Park. Afternoon game drive: look for the famous tree-climbing lions, vast herds of buffalo, and the shimmering pink blanket of flamingos on the soda lake.
Day 3Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 1.5 hrs)
Morning at leisure or optional early bird game drive in Manyara. After breakfast, drive up through coffee and banana plantations to the Ngorongoro highlands. Arrive at the crater rim for lunch with spectacular views over the caldera floor 600 m below. Afternoon at leisure: the cool highland air is a welcome change after the plains.
Day 4Ngorongoro Crater: Full Day Game Drive
Descend into the world's largest intact volcanic caldera for a full day of game drives. The 260 sq km crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife: lion, cheetah, leopard, black rhino, hippo, flamingo, wildebeest and nearly every bird and mammal found in East Africa. Picnic lunch inside the crater. Return to the rim in the late afternoon.
Day 5Ngorongoro – Central Serengeti (approx. 3.5 hrs)
Early morning departure through the scenic NCA highlands towards the Serengeti. Stop at Olduvai Gorge: the 'cradle of mankind' where early hominid fossils have been discovered. Enter the Serengeti and make your way to the central Seronera valley, the year-round heartland of the park where resident predators are always active. Afternoon game drive.
Day 6Serengeti – Full Day
A full day on the Serengeti plains. Morning and afternoon game drives through the Seronera valley and beyond, tracking the movements of lion prides, cheetah, leopard, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and giraffe. Optional sunrise hot air balloon safari (payable locally). Sundowner drinks on the plains at dusk.
Day 7Serengeti – Arusha – Departure
Final early morning game drive before returning to Arusha (approximately 4–5 hrs). Arrive in time for lunch, with time to browse the Arusha curio market for souvenirs before transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.

Standard insurance rates are US$44 per adult aged 18 or over, US$22 per child aged 3–17, and free for ages 0–2, subject to the insurer's eligibility rules and checkout. Insurance age bands may differ from lodge child rates. Cover is for up to 92 days, with the actual dates shown on your certificate. Keep the certificate and QR code accessible throughout the trip.
Residents of EAC and SADC member states qualify for the mainland exemption under NIC's published rules. This is residence-based, not simply a passport exemption. Confirm eligibility with NIC before departure.
