Overview
An arrival night in Arusha gives you time to settle in before the safari starts. Two nights in Tarangire are followed by two in the Serengeti and two in the Ngorongoro area. These eight days include a full day in each main wildlife area, with the crater visit near the end.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Arusha – Orientation
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to your Arusha hotel for a welcome dinner and briefing from your safari guide. Rest well: the adventure begins tomorrow.
Day 2Arusha – Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hrs)
After breakfast, drive southwest to Tarangire. Enter the park for a long afternoon game drive: the Tarangire River is a dry-season lifeline drawing elephant herds of 300+, huge numbers of wildebeest, zebra, impala, oryx, and plenty of predators. Check in to your lodge for sundowners and dinner.
Day 3Tarangire – Full Day
A full day's game driving in Tarangire. The park's southern areas shelter large buffalo herds, while the Silale Swamps are productive for ground birds, python and leopard. Baobab-draped kopjes are favourite leopard resting spots. Picnic lunch under an acacia tree.
Day 4Tarangire – Serengeti (approx. 5 hrs)
Early start north towards the Serengeti, stopping briefly at Lake Manyara viewpoint and passing through Ngorongoro highlands. Descend onto the Serengeti plains and begin afternoon game drives in the Seronera valley: lion country. This route provides a dramatic, constantly evolving landscape.
Day 5Serengeti – Full Day
The whole day in the Serengeti. Dawn game drive at first light (extraordinary for lion activity), return for breakfast, then a long mid-morning drive. The Seronera valley's lion prides are the most studied in the world. Cheetah, leopard, hyena and wild dog all inhabit these plains. Optional balloon flight at sunrise (extra cost).
Day 6Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 3.5 hrs)
Morning game drive in the Serengeti then drive east towards Ngorongoro, stopping at Olduvai Gorge for an fascinating short guided walk and museum visit. Climb to the Ngorongoro crater rim in the afternoon. Rest and enjoy the highland air and extraordinary views.
Day 7Ngorongoro Crater: Full Day Game Drive
Descend into the crater at dawn for a full day game drive. The crater shelters the world's densest populations of lion and is one of the only places where you are virtually guaranteed to see black rhino in the wild. Picnic lunch at the hippo pool. Ascend to the rim in the late afternoon.
Day 8Ngorongoro – Arusha – Departure
Leisurely breakfast on the crater rim with one last stunning view. Drive east to Arusha (approximately 2 hrs). Time for a curio browse and lunch before transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. End of a truly magnificent Tanzania safari.

Standard insurance rates are US$44 per adult aged 18 or over, US$22 per child aged 3–17, and free for ages 0–2, subject to the insurer's eligibility rules and checkout. Insurance age bands may differ from lodge child rates. Cover is for up to 92 days, with the actual dates shown on your certificate. Keep the certificate and QR code accessible throughout the trip.
Residents of EAC and SADC member states qualify for the mainland exemption under NIC's published rules. This is residence-based, not simply a passport exemption. Confirm eligibility with NIC before departure.
