Overview
The 14 Days of Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar Beach is a 14-day safari through Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti & Zanzibar, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. This route takes in Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Zanzibar and 2 more protected areas, with each day sequenced to put you in the right place at the right time for wildlife.
Bush and beach is one of East Africa's most satisfying combinations, and this 14-day itinerary gets the balance right: proper wildlife days in prime game country, then a coastal or island stay to wind down. Transfers, accommodation, and logistics are all managed by the Saringi team in Nairobi. Dates, lodge category, and duration can be adjusted to suit your schedule.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to your Arusha hotel. Meet your safari guide for a briefing over dinner.
Day 2Arusha – Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hrs)
Drive southwest to Tarangire for an afternoon game drive among elephant herds and baobab giants. Check in to your tented lodge as the sun sets over the Tarangire River.
Day 3Tarangire – Full Day
A complete day exploring Tarangire's diverse habitats: swamps, riverine forest and open bushland. Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hundreds of bird species inhabit this vastly underrated park.
Day 4Tarangire – Lake Manyara (approx. 1.5 hrs)
Morning game drive then drive to Lake Manyara. Afternoon game drive in the park: watch for tree-climbing lions draped over fever trees and the flamingo columns that turn the lake pink at sunset.
Day 5Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater Rim (approx. 1.5 hrs)
Morning at leisure then ascend through coffee and banana plantations to the Ngorongoro highlands. Arrive on the crater rim and check in to your lodge perched on the caldera edge: views are extraordinary at sunset.
Day 6Ngorongoro Crater – Full Day
Descend into the crater at dawn. Full day game drive on the crater floor: lion, black rhino, elephant, hippo, wildebeest and flamingo. Picnic lunch at the hippo pool.
Day 7Ngorongoro – Northern Serengeti (approx. 5 hrs)
Drive west through the NCA, stop at Olduvai Gorge, and enter the Serengeti. Head north to the Lobo or Kogatende area: prime Great Migration and river-crossing territory (July–October). Afternoon game drive on arrival.
Day 8Serengeti – Full Day (North)
Full day in the northern Serengeti tracking the wildebeest migration, river crossings at the Mara River (seasonal), cheetah sprints and pride hunts. One of the world's great wildlife experiences.
Day 9Serengeti – Central Plains – Full Day
Reposition to the Seronera valley: the permanent wildlife heartland of the Serengeti. Year-round lion, leopard, cheetah and hippo. Optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise (extra cost, must be booked in advance).
Day 10Serengeti – Arusha – Fly to Zanzibar
Final early morning game drive, then fly from a Serengeti airstrip to Arusha or Dar es Salaam, then connect to Zanzibar (Abeid Amani Karume Airport). Transfer to your north-coast beach resort.
Day 11Zanzibar – Stone Town Heritage Tour
Guided morning tour of Stone Town's Arab Fort, Tippu Tip's House, Darajani market and the moving Slave Memorial. Afternoon spice farm tour. Relaxed dinner at a seafront restaurant in the old town.
Day 12Zanzibar – Ocean Adventures
Dolphin tour at Kizimkazi or snorkelling trip to Mnemba Atoll: the turquoise private atoll where sea turtles, giant moray eels and colourful reef fish are encountered on virtually every dive. Afternoon at leisure on the beach.
Day 13Zanzibar – Beach Day
A full day at leisure: swimming, kayaking, beach volleyball, sunset dhow cruise, or simply reading in a hammock. Zanzibar is yours to enjoy.
Day 14Zanzibar – Departure
Leisurely morning breakfast before checkout and transfer to Zanzibar Airport. Your 14-day Tanzanian odyssey comes to a magnificent close.
