On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you are met and transferred to the iconic Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara, set on the banks of the Zambezi River with the spray of the falls visible from the grounds. In the afternoon, step aboard a sunset cruise on the Zambezi: watch for hippos, crocodiles and elephants along the riverbanks as the sun drops over the water.

After breakfast, cross into Zimbabwe for a guided tour of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the largest curtain of falling water on Earth. October and November offer exceptional views from the Zimbabwean side with close-up access to the main falls. Your guide shares the geology, history and local stories of this extraordinary place. As guests of the Royal Livingstone, you also enjoy unlimited complimentary access to the Zambian side during your stay.

A full-day excursion across the border into Botswana for a day inside Chobe National Park. Celebrated for having the largest elephant population of any park in Africa, Chobe also supports lions, leopards, buffalo, giraffe and exceptional birdlife along the river. Your day combines a scenic boat cruise on the Chobe River, where elephants wade and hippos wallow in the shallows, with an afternoon game drive through the floodplain grasslands. Return to Livingstone in the evening.

After breakfast, transfer to Livingstone Airport for your flight to Nairobi. On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our representative meets you and transfers you to the Hyatt Regency Nairobi. Rest and recover from the travel day. Nairobi's altitude and energy are a world apart from the spray of Victoria Falls.

Your guide meets you at the hotel and departs south along the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The road drops dramatically through the escarpment and the landscape opens into the vast Mara plains. Arrive by lunchtime and settle into your camp. An evening game drive from 3 to 6 p.m. introduces you to the Mara's lions, cheetahs and elephants in the golden afternoon light.

A full day of game drives in the Mara Reserve. The Mara holds Africa's highest lion density and big cats dominate the grasslands. Cheetahs are commonly sighted on the open plains, and in season (July to October), wildebeest crossings at the Mara River are among the most electrifying wildlife spectacles on Earth. Picnic lunch in the bush. Optional activities include a Maasai village visit ($30/person) or a second hot air balloon ride at sunrise ($480/person).

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Mara airstrip for your charter flight to the Serengeti. Packed lunch boxes are provided for the journey. Your driver guide meets the aircraft and begins an introductory game drive en route to camp: the Serengeti's open plains stretch unbroken to every horizon and the scale of the ecosystem is immediately humbling.

A full day in the heart of the Serengeti, home to the Big Five and Africa's greatest concentration of predators. Morning drives often catch cheetahs making kills on the open plains; evenings find lions gathering at waterholes. Picnic lunch in the field. The wildebeest herds graze the northern plains in preparation for the great migration. Optional: bush breakfast or sundowner dinner in the field.

Rise before dawn for your included hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti. Drift silently above the golden plains as the sky turns pink and the great herds stir below: one of the most extraordinary experiences in Africa. Land for a champagne bush breakfast in the open savannah. The rest of the day is spent on game drives across the greater Serengeti with a picnic lunch in the field.

After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro with a stop at Olduvai Gorge, the palaeontological site where some of the world's earliest human fossils were discovered. Arrive at Ngorongoro and check in at your crater-rim lodge. No game drive today. Spend the afternoon at leisure enjoying the extraordinary view: the 260 square kilometre crater floor laid out below you, a world unto itself.

An early descent into the crater floor for a full morning game drive. Ngorongoro holds approximately 25,000 large mammals including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippo and some of East Africa's last free-roaming black rhino, all within a single enclosed caldera. Picnic lunch on the crater floor. In the afternoon, drive to Arusha and fly to Zanzibar, where your transfer meets you and takes you to Breezes Beach Club.

Your first full day on the island. Spend the day at the resort: the Indian Ocean beach, water sports, spa and exceptional Swahili-influenced cuisine. The clear turquoise sea and fine white sand are a complete contrast to the dust of the Serengeti. Optional excursions available: Stone Town UNESCO heritage tour, Prison Island giant tortoises, Safari Blue boat excursion, spice tour or dolphin swim.

A second free day on the island. No programme, no agenda. Enjoy the beach, the pool and the salt air. The Indian Ocean is warm and the snorkelling just offshore is outstanding. Use the day however feels right after an extraordinary journey across four countries.

After breakfast, enjoy your final morning on the beach. Our driver meets you in the lobby in the afternoon and transfers you to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Nairobi and onward international connections. End of Saringi Tours services.
