Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Transfer to your Nairobi hotel. Welcome dinner with your safari guide and full itinerary briefing.
Day 2Nairobi – Maasai Mara (approx. 5 hrs drive or 45-min flight)
Drive southwest through the Great Rift Valley escarpment, descending through tea highlands and Narok town before arriving at the Mara. Afternoon game drive in this legendary reserve: lions, elephants and cheetah await. Sundowners on the plain.
Day 3Maasai Mara – Full Day
Full day in the Mara. Dawn game drive tracking lion prides and cheetah families. Afternoon game drive through the Mara Triangle, known for spectacular leopard sightings and the river crossings of the Great Migration (July–October). Optional visit to a traditional Maasai village.
Day 4Maasai Mara – Amboseli National Park (approx. 5 hrs)
Morning game drive then drive east via Nairobi or direct south-east to Amboseli National Park. Arrive for a late afternoon game drive: the light on Kilimanjaro at dusk is extraordinary.
Day 5Amboseli – Full Day
A full day in Amboseli: the park famous for its large elephant herds and the iconic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest peak at 5,895 m). Morning and afternoon drives among swamps, acacia woodland and open plains. Other wildlife: lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and over 400 bird species.
Day 6Amboseli – Nairobi – Fly to Kilimanjaro / Arusha
Morning game drive then drive to Nairobi or directly to Wilson Airport. Take your scheduled or charter flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). Transfer to your Arusha hotel for dinner.
Day 7Arusha – Serengeti National Park (approx. 4.5 hrs)
Drive west from Arusha through the NCA highlands and descend onto the Serengeti plains. Afternoon game drive in the Seronera valley: the permanent wildlife heartland of the park where lion, leopard and cheetah are seen almost daily.
Day 8Serengeti – Full Day
Full day on the Serengeti plains. Dawn game drive, breakfast back at camp, then a long morning drive to find the lion prides and cheetah coalitions. Afternoon drive exploring the central plains. Optional balloon safari at sunrise (booked in advance).
Day 9Serengeti – Full Day (Extended Exploration)
Another full Serengeti day with the option to explore different zones: move north towards the Lobo area for the migration (seasonal) or east towards Seronera's resident cheetah population. Sundowner drinks in the field.
Day 10Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 3.5 hrs)
Morning game drive then drive east, stopping at Olduvai Gorge: the site where Louis and Mary Leakey discovered early hominid remains. Continue to the Ngorongoro crater rim for dinner and a spectacular highland sunset.
Day 11Ngorongoro Crater – Full Day Game Drive
Full day inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend at dawn for game drives on the 260 sq km caldera floor. All Big Five are present: including Tanzania's most reliably seen black rhino population. Picnic at the hippo pool. Ascend at dusk.
Day 12Ngorongoro – Arusha – Departure
Leisurely morning breakfast on the crater rim with one last look across this wonder of the natural world. Drive east to Arusha (approx. 2 hrs) and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport. End of Saringi services on this extraordinary cross-border journey.

Standard insurance rates are US$44 per adult aged 18 or over, US$22 per child aged 3–17, and free for ages 0–2, subject to the insurer's eligibility rules and checkout. Insurance age bands may differ from lodge child rates. Cover is for up to 92 days, with the actual dates shown on your certificate. Keep the certificate and QR code accessible throughout the trip.
Residents of EAC and SADC member states qualify for the mainland exemption under NIC's published rules. This is residence-based, not simply a passport exemption. Confirm eligibility with NIC before departure.
