The Southern Tanzania Family Safari – Nyerere & Ruaha is a 7-day safari through Nyerere National Park (Selous) & Ruaha National Park, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. Every game drive, lodge, and activity has been chosen for what it adds to the experience as a whole.
Saringi Tours is a women-led safari company based in Nairobi, and every itinerary is private and bespoke. Dates, group size, accommodation tier, and optional activities such as a hot air balloon, guided bush walks, or cultural visits can all be adjusted to fit your preferences and budget. Our team is available before, during, and after your trip to make sure everything runs as it should.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Dar es Salaam, Arrival
Arrive into Dar es Salaam and overnight before the flight south, with a free afternoon by the pool to recover from long-haul travel.
Day 2Fly to Nyerere National Park
Morning flight into Nyerere, arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive along the Rufiji River, with hippo pods and crocodile banks visible right from camp.
Day 3Boat Safari & Bush Walk
A morning boat safari on the Rufiji, an easy and engaging way for kids to see wildlife without a long vehicle ride, followed by a short, guided walking safari suited to younger legs in the afternoon.
Day 4Full Day in Nyerere
A final full day of game drives and pool time, with the option of a sundowner cruise before dinner. The Rufiji River system supports elephant, lion, wild dog, and one of Africa's highest concentrations of hippo.
Day 5Fly to Ruaha National Park
Fly on to Ruaha, arriving for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Game drives here run shorter and more flexibly than a typical adult-paced circuit, and the camp's guiding team is experienced with younger travellers.
Day 6Bush Breakfast & Tracking Lesson
A picnic breakfast out in the bush, followed by a kid-friendly tracking lesson with the camp's resident guide and an afternoon game drive through Ruaha's baobab-studded escarpments.
Day 7Fly Out
Final morning game drive, then a flight back to Dar es Salaam for onward or international connections. End of Saringi Tours services.
