Overview
The South Luangwa Walking Safari is a 6-day safari through South Luangwa National Park, designed and operated by Saringi Tours. Based in Nairobi and women-led, Saringi has been building private African itineraries since 2018. Every game drive, lodge, and activity has been chosen for what it adds to the experience as a whole.
Southern Africa covers a lot of ground, and the sequence matters. Saringi has been putting these itineraries together since 2018, and this one is built to balance game-rich safari days with the scenery and culture that make the region worth the journey. Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Mfuwe -- Transfer to Camp
Fly into Mfuwe International Airport and transfer to your camp in South Luangwa National Park. Afternoon game drive along the Luangwa River, where elephants, hippos, and giraffes gather at the water's edge.
Day 2Game Drive & Walking Introduction
Morning game drive covering the park's central areas. Afternoon introductory guided bush walk near camp with your professional guide and armed scout: learning to track, identify spoor, and move silently through the bush.
Day 3Relocate to Walking-Safari Bush Camp
Transfer deeper into the park to a classic South Luangwa walking-safari bush camp. The bush camps are smaller and more intimate than the main lodges, and their remote positions put you in the heart of the park's finest wildlife areas.
Day 4Full Walking Safari Day
A full morning guided walk: tracking game on foot with your armed scout and naturalist guide, the park's defining activity. South Luangwa's experienced guides are widely considered the best walking safari guides in Africa. Night drive for leopard.
Day 5Riverfront Camp -- Game Drives & Walking
Move to a riverfront camp for a final full day mixing walks and game drives along the Luangwa River. The river's edge attracts enormous concentrations of game in the dry season.
Day 6Final Morning Activity -- Fly Out
Final dawn activity before transferring to Mfuwe airport for onward or international connections. End of Saringi Tours services.
