Zambia's largest and least-visited national park: vast open floodplains, large lion prides, and one of southern Africa's most photogenic seasonal landscapes. The Busanga Plains are accessible only in the dry season when the floodwaters recede, and genuinely uncrowded even by Zambian standards.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive Busanga Plains
Fly via Lusaka into the Busanga Plains sector of Kafue National Park, arriving for an afternoon game drive across the floodplain. The sheer scale and openness of the Busanga Plains creates a game-viewing environment unlike anything else in Zambia.
Day 2Full Day, Busanga Plains
Full day of game drives across the open plains. Large lion prides hunting red lechwe, thousands of puku, wattled crane in the wetland margins, and extraordinary photography light at golden hour.
Day 3Busanga -- Wildlife & Landscape Photography
A second full day on the plains with extended time at a pride or herd. The scale and light of the Busanga Plains is extraordinary for photography at both dawn and dusk.
Day 4Transfer within Kafue -- Woodland Sector
Relocate to a second area of Kafue in the denser miombo woodland and riverine habitat, providing a completely different ecosystem from Busanga's open floodplains.
Day 5Full Day, Kafue Woodland
Game drives and walking safaris in the miombo woodland. Wild dog, lion, buffalo, and the elusive sitatunga inhabit this under-explored section of Africa's second-largest national park.
Day 6Final Morning Activity -- Fly to Lusaka
Final morning activity before transfer to Lusaka for onward or international connections. End of Saringi Tours services.
