Choose Finch Hattons for Tsavo West's springs, lava landscapes and a slower wilderness stay. Choose Mahali Mzuri for open Mara plains and conservancy game drives. If you have a week and want the contrast, this itinerary gives you three nights at each rather than asking you to choose.

What does the combined safari cost?
The price depends on your dates, room arrangements, available camp rates and flight connections. We quote the two properties together with the transfers and park or conservancy fees, so you can compare the total trip rather than two room rates that include different things.
Tell us your travel month, number of adults and children, and whether you want both camps or a shorter stay at one. Your written quote identifies what is included, whether drives are shared with other camp guests or private, and any extra-charge activities.
How the two camps fit into one week
Start in Tsavo West, then fly towards the Mara for the second half of the trip. Connections can involve Nairobi rather than a direct camp-to-camp service. We confirm the route, baggage allowance and transfer times before you book.
A stay at Mahali Mzuri is not the same as staying inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Conservancy drives are the focus; a reserve visit or a specific migration excursion needs its own timing and inclusion check. Wildlife movements, river crossings and sightings cannot be promised for particular dates.

No. Mahali Mzuri is in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, within the wider Maasai Mara ecosystem. Finch Hattons is in Tsavo West National Park.
Which camp is better for a honeymoon?
Both can suit a honeymoon. Finch Hattons offers a different landscape and time around natural springs; Mahali Mzuri suits couples drawn to the Mara's open plains and game drives. Your dates, preferred pace and budget are more useful deciding factors than a single overall winner.
Are private game drives included?
Do not assume that a tailor-made itinerary means an exclusive vehicle at both camps. We confirm the drive arrangements and any private-vehicle supplement in your quote.
Can I book just one camp?
Yes. Ask us to quote a stay at Finch Hattons or Mahali Mzuri on its own, with the appropriate Nairobi transfers. The seven-day combination is a starting itinerary, not a compulsory minimum.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Nairobi to Tsavo West, Finch Hattons
Travel from Nairobi to Tsavo West by the flight or road transfer specified in your quote. Settle into Finch Hattons, whose tented suites overlook natural springs beneath the Chyulu Hills. If arrival time allows, take an afternoon game drive to begin exploring the park's varied landscape. Dinner and your first night at camp leave time to enjoy the setting rather than rush through a long activity list.
Day 2Finch Hattons, Game Drives & Tsavo Landscapes
Explore Tsavo West on morning and afternoon game drives, with time at camp between outings. Look for elephants, antelope, birds and predators while your guide explains the springs and volcanic terrain. A visit to Mzima Springs can be included in the day's confirmed programme. If you would like a night drive or a specialist activity, ask us to confirm availability, permission and any extra charge before booking.
Day 3Finch Hattons, Another Day in Tsavo West
Keep a second full day for Tsavo West rather than trying to see it all in one outing. Depending on conditions and the camp programme, explore viewpoints or the Shetani lava flows, then spend the afternoon on a game drive or enjoying the camp. The extra night gives you another chance to find wildlife, without promising particular animals or sightings.
Day 4Tsavo West to the Mara, Mahali Mzuri
Transfer to the airstrip for your confirmed flight connection towards the Mara, which may involve Nairobi rather than a direct service. The camp team meets you at the appropriate arrival airstrip for Mahali Mzuri in Olare Motorogi Conservancy. Settle into your tent overlooking the valley and, if the schedule permits, join an afternoon conservancy game drive. Your final itinerary confirms flight times, airstrips and transfers.
Day 5Mahali Mzuri, Olare Motorogi Game Drives
Join morning and afternoon game drives in Olare Motorogi, looking for lions, cheetahs, elephants and the wider range of plains wildlife. The conservancy setting offers a different landscape from Tsavo West and time to follow what your guide finds that day. Between drives, enjoy the camp and its views. Migration herds move with conditions; their presence is not a fixed part of the programme.
Day 6Mahali Mzuri, Explore at Your Pace
Spend another day exploring the conservancy with the camp guides. A repeat visit to an area can reveal different wildlife and behaviour, so there is no need to rush into a new location simply to fill the day. If you want a Maasai Mara National Reserve excursion, cultural visit or another specialist activity, we can check whether it fits your stay and quote any additional fee. Finish your last evening at camp.
Day 7Mahali Mzuri to Nairobi by Air
Enjoy breakfast and a final drive if the flight schedule allows, then transfer to the airstrip for the return to Nairobi Wilson Airport. Your onward airport transfer and international connection are planned around the confirmed flight timetable. Allow a suitable buffer, or an extra Nairobi night if needed, rather than assuming every flight connects on the same day.

A tailor-made safari does not automatically include an exclusive game-drive vehicle at both camps. Camp-led drives may be shared with other guests; any private-vehicle supplement is quoted separately.
Mahali Mzuri is in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, not Mara North or inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Any reserve visit, balloon safari, specialist walk or night drive must be confirmed separately.
Light-aircraft connections may route through Nairobi and have strict baggage limits. We confirm schedules and allowances before booking and allow a suitable buffer for onward international travel.
Wildlife sightings and migration events depend on animal movements and conditions. A camp booking does not guarantee a particular sighting or a river crossing.
