16 Day Botswana, Victoria Falls & Madagascar Experience

Arrive at Maun International Airport, Botswana. Fly by light aircraft (20 minutes) into Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Settle in to your luxury tented camp, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild. Afternoon game drive with your specialist guide.

Full day of morning and afternoon game drives in Moremi: one of Africa's most biodiverse wilderness areas, rich in wild dog, lion, leopard, buffalo, and a staggering variety of waterbirds. The floodplain edges at dusk are particularly spectacular as herds converge at the water.

Early morning game drive or guided walking trail to experience the bush at ground level. After brunch, fly by light aircraft deeper into the Okavango Delta. Board a mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) and drift silently through papyrus channels alive with herons, kingfishers, and the occasional hippo surfacing nearby.

A full immersive day in the Delta: morning mokoro excursion through the labyrinthine waterways, followed by a guided island walk tracking spoor of elephant and lion. Afternoon: game drive across the floodplains as the Delta's resident herds return to the water. Star-gazing around the campfire.

Morning activity in the Delta, then fly to Kasane in northern Botswana. Afternoon game drive along the Chobe riverfront, home to the world's densest elephant population: herds of 50–200 moving to the river are a common, breathtaking sight. Overnight in a lodge with Chobe River views.

Sunrise game drive through Chobe's diverse habitats: lion are often found on the floodplains in the early morning. Return for breakfast, then afternoon sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River: elephants swimming across, buffalo herds drinking, crocodiles sunning themselves, and hippos yawning in the golden afternoon light.

Morning: final sunrise boat cruise on the Chobe River. Cross the border into Zimbabwe and check in to your hotel in Victoria Falls town. Afternoon guided walk along the rim of Victoria Falls: over 1.7km wide and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The spray can be seen from 50km away. Evening sundowner cruise on the Upper Zambezi.

A full free day at the Falls. Choose from: a helicopter flight over the Falls (the only way to truly comprehend their scale), white-water rafting the legendary Zambezi Grade 5 rapids (seasonal), bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge (111m above the Zambezi gorge), guided canoe day trip on the Upper Zambezi, or a cultural village visit. Final dinner at the historic Victoria Falls Hotel.

Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight to Antananarivo (Tana), the capital of Madagascar (via Johannesburg). Arrive Tana and transfer to your hotel. Evening briefing about Madagascar: the world's fourth largest island, home to 5% of all species on Earth, 90% of which are found nowhere else.

Morning departure from Tana (3 hours east) to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. Guided walking trail through the cloud forest in search of the indri: the world's largest living lemur: whose haunting, whale-like call echoes through the canopy. Also look for chameleons, geckos, and over 100 endemic bird species. Overnight in a forest lodge.

Early morning lemur walk in the reserve: dawn is the best time to hear and spot the indri family groups. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then drive back to Tana for a domestic flight to Nosy Be, Madagascar's premier island paradise in the northwest. Transfer to your beach resort as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

A full day at leisure on Nosy Be. The waters here are among the clearest in the world, rich in whale sharks (October–December), humpback whales (July–September), manta rays, and extraordinary coral reefs. Choose from: snorkelling trip to the Mitsio Archipelago, whale shark swimming excursion (seasonal), island boat tour to Nosy Komba (black lemurs), or pure relaxation on the beach.

Another day to enjoy the turquoise waters and tropical beauty of Nosy Be. Optional half-day spice plantation tour on the island itself (Nosy Be means 'Big Island' and is known for its ylang-ylang, vanilla, and coffee). Afternoon snorkelling, kayaking, or simply watching the dhow boats drift past on the warm Indian Ocean breeze.

Final full day on the island. Sunrise yoga, a last snorkelling session on the house reef, or a dhow sailing trip to a deserted sandbank for a private beach picnic. Sundowners on the beach as you reflect on an extraordinary journey through Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar.

Morning at leisure. Afternoon domestic flight from Nosy Be back to Antananarivo. Overnight in Tana in preparation for your international departure.
