12 Days Rwanda, Amboseli, Lewa & Maasai Mara Fly-in Safari

Arrive at Kigali International Airport and be welcomed by your guide for a briefing and hotel transfer. The evening is yours in Rwanda's vibrant, immaculate capital city.

After breakfast, your guide and driver collect you for the drive northwest to Musanze in the shadow of the Virunga volcanoes. Optional Kigali city tour and Genocide Memorial visit en route. Check in for dinner and early rest.

An early breakfast at 6:30 am before the ranger briefing and gorilla trek into the Virunga forest. Trek for 2 to 6 hours through dense bamboo and ancient woodland until you find one of the habituated families. Spend one full hour with the gorillas, completely absorbed in their world, then return to the lodge for lunch and afternoon recovery.

Return to Volcanoes National Park headquarters early morning for a golden monkey trek: searching the bamboo forest for these endangered, vividly coloured primates in a group of no more than eight. Spend one hour with the troops, then visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about the decades of conservation work protecting these mountain gorillas. Lunch en route, then transfer to Kigali.

Transfer to Kigali Airport for your morning flight to Nairobi. Your Saringi Tours driver meets you at the arrivals hall and transfers you to your Nairobi hotel for overnight rest.

Early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel for a flight to Amboseli from Wilson Airport. Arrive and be collected by your camp vehicle for a game drive en route to the lodge. Check in, lunch, then a 3 pm afternoon game drive across Amboseli's open plains: the first sighting of Kilimanjaro's snowy peak above the elephant herds is a moment never forgotten.

A full day at Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. Visit the Enkongo Narok swamp at dawn when hundreds of elephants gather in the mist beneath Kilimanjaro. Climb Observation Hill for a panoramic view of the entire park. Optional hot-air balloon ride or guided cultural tour to a Maasai village.

After breakfast, transfer to the Amboseli airstrip for a flight to Nairobi connecting with your morning flight north to Lewa. Arrive in the Lewa Conservancy by late morning: a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the foothills of Mount Kenya, home to the world's densest population of endangered Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and a thriving black rhino population. Afternoon game drive at 4 pm.

A full day in Lewa's 65,000-acre private conservancy with morning and afternoon game drives in open-sided vehicles. Look for the rarest wildlife in northern Kenya: black rhino on foot with a specialist tracker, Grevy's zebra in their hundreds, and horseback rides across the savannah. Night game drives reveal the nocturnal world: serval, aardvark, porcupine and genets in the spotlight. Bush walks and sundowners complete the Lewa experience.

After breakfast, transfer to the Lewa airstrip for a flight south to the Maasai Mara: Africa's greatest wildlife amphitheatre. Arrive by late morning, be collected by your camp vehicle and enjoy lunch at camp. Afternoon game drive at 4 pm to begin exploring the endless Mara plains.

A full day in the Mara with unlimited game drives. The Maasai Mara consistently delivers the finest big-cat sightings in Africa: prides of lions, elusive leopards in the fig trees along the Talek River, and coursing cheetahs on the open plains. During migration season (July–October) the annual crossing of the Mara River by millions of wildebeest and zebra is among the most dramatic spectacles in the natural world.

A final morning game drive before the flight back to Nairobi departing at 11:15 am, arriving 12:15 pm. Lunch in the city before hotel drop-off or airport transfer for your international departure. End of services.
