18 Days Maasai Mara, Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Zanzibar Beach

Arrive in Nairobi and be met by your Saringi Tours representative for transfer to the legendary Giraffe Manor in the Karen suburb: the world's most celebrated boutique hotel, where endangered Rothschild giraffes roam freely through the ivy-covered grounds and push their elegant heads through the dining-room windows at breakfast. Settle into this unique property and enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere.

A morning visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage (open 11 am–noon), watching rescued baby elephants being fed and cared for by their keepers. Followed by an early lunch at Giraffe Manor before transfer to Wilson Airport for an afternoon flight to the Maasai Mara. Arrive, enjoy your first game drive en route to camp, then dinner and overnight.

A full day on the Mara with extensive game drives across the open plains and along the Mara and Talek Rivers. The Mara is famous for its extraordinary lion densities, resident cheetahs and the leopards that haunt the riverine fig trees. Picnic lunch in the field, dinner at camp.

Rise before dawn for a sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the Maasai Mara: drifting silently above the waking plains as the first golden light reveals herds of wildebeest stretching to every horizon. Land in the bush for a champagne bush breakfast among the acacia trees. The afternoon is spent back at camp or on a game drive in the conservancy.

A final full day at Salas Camp: one of the most exclusive camps in the Mara ecosystem, located within the Mara Conservancy for private off-road driving and highly personalised guiding. Morning and afternoon game drives with a specialist Maasai guide.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a flight to Entebbe via Kisumu (immigration stop). Connect with your afternoon flight from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip at Bwindi. Be collected by your lodge vehicle and arrive at your lodge in the ancient forest. The afternoon is spent at leisure or on a guided community walk.

The experience at the heart of this safari. A ranger briefing, then the long walk into the rainforest: steep, green, alive with birdcalls and the rustle of undergrowth. When the guides signal a halt and the gorillas come into view, nothing prepares you for the sheer size and presence of a silverback in his element. One hour of observation so intimate and so powerful it stays with you forever.

A peaceful day at Mahogany Springs: guided forest walks through Bwindi's extraordinary biodiversity, optional visits to local communities, and time to process the experiences of the past week. The forest itself, with over 350 bird species and 120 mammals, offers its own quieter rewards.

After breakfast, transfer to Kihihi airstrip for a morning flight to Entebbe, connecting with an afternoon flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. Your driver meets you and transfers you to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest.

Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to the Serengeti. Arrive by mid-morning: your first view of the endless Serengeti plains from the air is breathtaking. Your camp vehicle meets you at the airstrip for a game drive en route to your lodge. Afternoon game drive at 4 pm.

A full day in the world's most famous wildlife park with pre-breakfast and afternoon game drives. The Serengeti is home to the world's largest lion population, massive elephant herds, and the full annual cycle of the Great Migration. Optional balloon safari at dawn for an aerial view of the endless plains.

Another full day exploring the greater Serengeti ecosystem, moving through different habitats depending on the season: the kopje-dotted central Serengeti, the Grumeti River woodlands, or the vast northern Serengeti where the migration rivers flow.

Early breakfast, then drive to the Serengeti airstrip for your morning flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. Connect with your afternoon flight to Zanzibar. Your driver meets you at Zanzibar Airport and transfers you to your beachfront resort for check-in and dinner on the Indian Ocean.

The first of five days on one of the Indian Ocean's most beautiful islands. Zanzibar's turquoise waters, white coral-sand beaches and swaying palms form the perfect antidote to weeks of early mornings and big emotions. The resort's beach, pool, spa and all-inclusive dining are yours.

Another day at leisure: snorkelling the coral reefs, kayaking in the lagoon, or simply reading on the beach. Optional day trips to UNESCO-listed Stone Town with its Arab Fort and labyrinthine lanes, or a spice tour through plantations of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and cloves.

The days of paradise continue. Optional excursions: Prison Island and its Aldabra giant tortoises, a sunset dhow cruise along the coast, or a Blue Safari at Menai Bay with snorkelling, dolphin watching and a traditional Swahili lunch on a sandbank.

Your last full day in Zanzibar. An early morning walk on the beach before the resort comes alive, a final afternoon in the water, and a last dinner watching the sun disappear into the Indian Ocean.
