End your Samburu adventure with a bush dinner under the stars, accompanied by Samburu warrior dances.

Next, transfer to the famous Masai Mara and stay at the exclusive Saruni Mara Lodge. Discover the vast Mara North Conservancy through guided game drives, looking out for the Big Five, and other wildlife in a private reserve. Explore the Masai Mara Game Reserve, learn about the Maasai culture, and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – transfer to Saruni Samburu by flight

Depart Nairobi on a scheduled flight to Samburu. On arrival, the camp’s guide will receive you and transfer you to the Lodge, your home for the next three nights! Later have an afternoon game drive in a shared 4*4 customized Landcruiser in the Kalama Conservancy, exploring its vast wilderness. Finish the day with a sundowner before retiring to a luxurious villa overnight.

Day 2: Saruni (Kalama Conservancy)

Depart for a morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve in search of the Samburu special five. Samburu is also known to be home to many bird species and on a good day, you can view up to over 20 species. Have a picnic lunch and return to the lodge to relax the evening away.

Day 3: Saruni Samburu

After breakfast, head out for a morning game drive as you explore further with a blend of guided nature walks. Return to the lodge to relax or swim in the pool. Later have an evening game drive and top the day and stay at Samburu with a bush dinner under the stars. The night will also be graced by Samburu warrior dancers and a small guide on Samburu culture.

Day 4: Saruni Samburu – Saruni Mara

After breakfast, depart Samburu by flight to Kenya’s most known travel destination, Masai Mara. A guide will be waiting to take you for a game drive in the Mara North Conservancy followed by a picnic lunch. Later drive to Saruni Mara to rest before an evening game drive. Saruni Mara is the only small, boutique lodge in the Mara, with five elegant cottages, one family villa, and one private villa. Return to the lodge for dinner & overnight stay.

Day 5: Mara North Conservancy

Have a pre-breakfast game drive in search of the big five and other animals as the sun rises over the vast Masai land. Return to camp for breakfast and rest into the afternoon. After lunch, set out for a game drive in the Mara North Conservancy; an exclusive, private wildlife concession bordering Masai Mara National Reserve. Maasai warriors guide you throughout, sharing their ancient wisdom of the area and animals and their fascinating way of life, see giraffes towering high enough and the big cats hunting. Return to the lodge for dinner and an optional night game drive.

Day 6: Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, have a guided nature walk in the area surrounding Saruni. Later drive up to the tallest hill in the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. In the afternoon, drive out into the Mara Game Reserve to further explore Mara. Have a bush dinner (depending on the weather) in the conservancy accompanied by Masai warriors singing and dancing around a bonfire.

Day 7: Mara – transfer to Nairobi by air

After breakfast, you will have your final game drive en route to the airstrip for a flight to Nairobi. Arrive and have lunch in a city restaurant before dropping off at your hotel or JKIA for your connecting flight to the next destination.
